Volunteers are a vital part of MS Research and Relief Fund and we hope to give everyone a fun and rewarding experience.
MSRRF currently has five regular volunteers who kindly give their time to the Charity. They cover many roles and are valuable members of the team. The roles currently undertaken by the Charity’s volunteers are: Complementary Therapist, Gym assistant, IT consultant, gardener, graphic designer and generally helping with events. However, there are so many other roles the Charity needs help with.
Gardening has always been a good source of volunteering opportunities. Benmar House has a wonderful memorial garden named after Paul Playford, a Service User whose family donated money for the design and building of the garden in Paul’s memory. Volunteers are vital to the maintenance of the garden, especially during the spring and summer months.
Other volunteering opportunities are in fundraising, in particular the various events that the MSRRF is involved with throughout the year. For example, the Charity needs people to support runners along cheer stations at the Great North Run and help out around the course during the Annual Golf Days. There are specific volunteering job roles available within the Charity and we hope to fill these roles to give a much need boost to our small staff team.
MS Research and Relief Fund will be recruiting new Volunteers in early 2019, with the hope of developing a database of people with particular skills and interests who can help out when opportunities arise which they are in a position to assist with.
Volunteers can claim their expenses, get to work with a vibrant team of people who are committed to the work of the Charity, gain experience, feel very much valued and you may even have fun!
If you or someone you know has time to spare and would like to fill that time in a constructive valuable and much needed way, please get in touch or take a look at our Volunteers page.
