In October 2018, Sue Nicholls organised a pub quiz at the Stag’s Head in London in order to raise funds for MS Research and Relief Fund. Sue was inspired to organise the event by her friend Sarah, who is a regular service user at Benmar House.

Sue’s friends, family and colleagues all put on their thinking caps and managed to raise a whopping £900 from just one event! Sue’s energy and enthusiasm drove the event to new levels, raising an incredible amount of funds which will help MSRRF to provide completely free-of-charge services to people affected by MS across the North East, as well as grants for financial assistance throughout the United Kingdom.

However, the fundraising didn’t stop there. Prior to the event, Sue had spoken to her employers – Advent Underwriting Limited, a London based insurance business – about Match Funding. Advent, now part of RiverStone Management Limited, very generously decided to match all the funds raised Pound-For-Pound. This doubled Sue’s donation, taking the total to a phenomenal £1,800!
